La Petite Maison (1km from Chauffour) is managed by us on behalf of the owners, Barry and Sue Eastham.

This traditional whitewashed cottage with blue shutters is set in a lovely secluded garden, in the heart of the beautiful Dordogne countryside.It is surrounded by fields filled with sunflowers throughout the summer, and clear blue skies.

The cottage has been carefully refurbished over a number of years, retaining many of the original features, to create a home that is light and airy. In 2003 a new kitchen together with a garden room, a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom has been added. There is a private swimming pool and sun terrace.

Accommodation:

A large, comfortably furnished sitting room with woodburner and doors leading onto the terrace and courtyard. There is a TV (UK channels) and Video, a CD/tape player, together with many books, games and videos available for your use. The main house is open plan with lovely chestnut parquet floors. The dining room has a large oak dining table which leads to a spacious, well equipped kitchen and then into a sunny garden room.

The kitchen is newly installed with fitted shaker style units and farmhouse sink. There is a large electric cooker/oven, fridge and freezer, a microwave, a dish washer and washing machine. The owners have also supplied a selection of cookery books for your use!

On the ground floor there is a large master bedroom with king size bed, and a new ensuite bathroom with modern French bathroom suite.

In addition there is a shower room with shower, wash hand basin and WC on the ground floor, off the hall.

From the main sitting room, a staircase leads up to a large landing area from which there are a further two twin bedrooms. A single bed is also available for an additional guest. The lovely cruck shape of the roof beams have been left exposed. Velux roof windows let in the light.

The garden:

The large garden is very secluded and private. There is a bbq, together with table and chairs for long, relaxing meals 'al fresco'. The layout of the garden is such that there is a courtyard at the back of the house, with a lockable iron gate making it possible to completely block access to the pool area for younger children. The pool area is the other side of the courtyard.

Through the gated arch is a swimming pool, 8m long and 5.3m wide, together with a sun terrace with sun beds, surrounded by a private wooded garden. The depth of the pool is a constant 1.5m, an ideal place to relax and cool off. The pool is fitted with an approved alarm (Afnor French regulations) for your security. Most of the garden is grass, with areas for boules and badminton, or shady areas to sit and read a book! Private parking for 2 or more cars.

As la Petite Maison is only 1km away from Chauffour, we can offer you most of the services and extras that we offer to the guests of the Farmhouse and Barn (a large group of up to 26 could also rent the 3 houses).
